I am working on a web site that will have banner type ads. Ads will need to go on certain pages, and will need to rotate position. They will be simple graphic ads that will link to clients web sites. I am thinking about using OpenX. Does anyone use it, or have a better idea.
I think the tracking capability is neat, but isn't necessarily needed. Clients will just pay a monthly fee to have their ad on the site, it won't matter how many clicks they actually get, except as a selling tool.
I do need to separate the ads out by what page they go on. It's a publishing site, so some ads go with the main book page, some go with signature books, and some go with other books. We might also need the ads to be at different important levels, like if someone pays extra to always be in the top spot.
I guess my question is basically, does anyone use OpenX? If so do you like it? If not what would you recommend? I need a ready made application, because I just don't have time to try to make stuff from scratch any more.

I was using OpenX before some time, but then I switched to a script I wrote as I didn't need so many features. OpenX is a great product if you want to deliver professional ads, but I am not sure if this is what you want. I mean it is an advanced application.
