Getting a job as SEO expert would be wonderful and they are among top paying careers today as most small plus big businesses are using custom SEO packages introduced by the leading organizations but it is at the same time probably the toughest and most competitive niche online as well.
So many big companies are already dominating the niche and you can find their addresses by checking out Google search engine. One problem is that having knowledge alone is not going to solve all problems because some assets too are needed. For example, the top ranking SEO companies own hundreds or other websites, directories and blogs, helping them to build links for their customers sites.

Once SEO was not a separate profession - Web masters performed some basic SEO for the sites they managed and that was all. But as sites began to grow and make money, it became more reasonable to hire a dedicated SEO specialist than to have the Web master do it. The demand for good SEO experts is high and is constantly on the rise.

I am only a newbie on this field. I just find it interesting, though not that money-making. I may only work it in a part-time way.

SEO has very bright future for you if you have great analytic skills, because you have to research a lot to sculpt a strategy to beat tough competition on Google and Yahoo.

Aspiring SEO's should really start doing it as part time if you're working on your own sites and eventually learn from others and study competitors.
