Referal system

I was thinking of creating a referal system on the site.

As it needs some time to be coded, I would like to know what you think of this idea.

Here is the concept :

1) Every user of the forum will be able to participate in the affiliate system, without any further action by his/her part. You will be able to participate by refering them to a url of the form www.webdigity.com/?ref=YourUserName

2) Whenever someone signups to the forum, you will be getting about 10% of the credits that your refered people earn. So if for exampe the x member refers to the forum the y member, and the y member does 10 new posts and get 100 credits for them, in the end of the month member x will get 10 credits for that. You will keep earning credits for as long the member is using the forum.

I think this way the program will look more than an ordinary affiliate system, because even if you are not getting money, you can get stuff like cpc, cpm, text links (and soon hosting) for your site, just by participating here.

Do you like this concept? Can you give any advice, and are you going to use a program like that?

I would love to know what you think, because this will finally let me decide if I have to implement this or not to the forum.

It is an interesting idea. Unfortunately I do not run ads anywhere so can not really take advantage of it.

A very interesting idea. Did you see it done somewhere else or did you come up with the idea yourself?

I've seen that many people register to the forum because of this motivation. There are plenty of forums that use the shop system.

As for the affiliate is something that I though (but I am sure that are many forums out there that have this mod)

I suppose it can boost the forum a little, but this depends more to the members of the forum, so that's why I am asking you guys and girls

i think that it is a good idea and that is something that i would like to do with my forum and site to. if you don't have anywhere to "run ads", there are other places like signatures in other forums and emails...
