Do you use Google's Analytics?

This has to be the best free website statistics online program available for any website going. Google Analytics shows you how many new/returning visitors visit your website/pages very day. With a simple javascript code (supplied by Google) pasted into each page you wish to track, you can have the stats ready within ten minutes.

It's free to use, but you have to register for a free account with Google first, then re-register again to use Google's Analytics. But once signed up you can add as many websites you like to track. Analytics will also show you a map of the world and display where your visits come from with details on towns/cities and how many visits (with percentage) have been made from that area.

You can download .csv files (Excel file) with pie charts for your home/work place and to print out. The stats also show Marketing Optimization's with stats on Marketing Campaign Results, etc... And where visitors click on which link the most. This will help you decide which content to keep up to date and which pages need to be promoted more and exposed.

Anyway enough for now, I could go on more about Analytics. My advise is to register and try it out.

I used to find GA slow but not anymore - they've really ramped up the server power behind it.

About the only thing I find slow now (but it doesn't affect my sites) is that it takes sometimes a day or more to see e-comm information.  This can make it hard if you are doing any type of ROI analysis on Adwords and other campaigns.

Aside from that I think it's a quite powerful program, considering that its free.

Very true, that's exactly what I did.

I find Google Analytics to be very useful but also like to use StatCounter for real time stats.

I use Google Analytics on the vBulletin forums for web tracking, but thinking of going PHP for the main part of the site...
