Hello, long time no post I currently host two TV streaming sites, which are starting to get some good uniques per day (around 800 in total). The problem is my CTR is low; around 0.4%. This is because the main body of the website is just a video, and so users have a very hard time not finding(double negative) the content they want (ie. They only have to click play and not consider anything else on the page.) I was wondering if I should add a loading timer for the video, and if this would increase the bounce rate? Also I was thinking about a landing home page which then links to different episodes, and so the users have to navigate through more pages to find the episode they want (again, may increase the bounce rate).
What do you guys think, and what has worked in the past in your experience?
Thanks for the help.
For reference the site is watchtheinbetweenersonline.com

Welcome back J n B
Increasing the load time may help a little, but in general I don't think anything could increase the CTR of this site (the ad placement is good anyway)
Maybe you could try some inpage pop-ins (check adversal) as a secondary income. Of course this can harm your traffic as well

Actually I have tried adversal on this site already, the no. of unique visitors depleted very quickly, so I don't think that's an option. I think i'll try a site redesign, adding a homepage and a quiz, to try and increase CTR.
Thanks for your opinion

I think you certainly need to redesign your site navigation. You can add some content in the home page and then tell the users to go the respective zone for their favorite tv episodes. loader timer can be helpful as user will get an idea on how much time they will have to wait.
It also depends on internet connection. if your user base is coming from slow internet connection countries that might reduce your CTR.

After a re-design of the site, my CTR increase slightly (no more than 0.1% though). I did get a lot of visitors, and made $20 one day (nice ), but decided to sell the site as it was getting too large.

The best way for drastically increase your CTR is sharpening the keywords on your site. Works great for me.
For your case. You can put it on the edge of the screen but try something flashy because you need to beat the stream video lol....
