Twitter is not a tool to make money. At least not directly. For instance sending an affiliate link or an ad to your twitter stream will cause many people to unfollow you.

I believe twitter is a great tool to build reputation, so as a marketing tool it works more like blogs work

yes, there is ways to make money on twitter (just as there's ways to make money on any such service.. just gotta be a little creative sometimes).

if you're looking to get started, i'd be more than happy to post up a tutorial.  all i ask in return is you sign up under my referral ID.

twtad . com / index.php?id=4636

twtAd will pay you anywhere from $0.02 to $0.05 per click.

you'll also want to get an account at  tweetlater . com  (to setup some automation for your twitter accounts... yes, you should setup multiple accounts)

i'm at work at the moment, so i can't get super in depth obviously, but i'll try to write something up tonight that goes over the specifics.

the idea is...
- sign up 50+ accounts  (you can do less of course, but each account will probably only bring in a few dollers per day.  the idea is to find something that makes you a *little* bit of money and just duplicate it on a larger scale.
- get as many people following you as quickly as possible  (there are some ways to expediate this process).  you'll need at least 50 per account for them to post ads with twtAd.
- post 5-10 "actual posts" in between ads.  (so you don't look like a spammer)

that's the real quick run down.  like i said, i'd be willing to post up a tutorial if need be.  PM me if you're interested.

So Donnie you are selling your reputation in twitter for 2 cents per click? I don't think this is a very wise thing to do. How many followers do you lose each time you post an ad?

I suppose you create accounts just for this, but this is actually spam, isn't it?
