I got caught off guard the other day. I was about to place a google analytics code on my page when it suddenly changed from an HTML based site to a CSS one. I am not familiar with CSS so I was not able to place the code in. Anyone out there who can help? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

What do you mean? Html and css are always together, they are not separate things.

aslong as your analytics code is placed just before the </body> tag it will work and as Nikolas said, html and css are used together.

follow these simple steps:

   1. copy the code from your Google Analytics home page
   2. open your  file
   3. place the Analytics code at the bottom of the file, between the </body> and </html> tags

Place the G Analytics code before the </body></html> tags. You dont have to place the tags in the css files.

Google analytic code is javascript and no reason to trouble your page css or html. You can places google code before <body> tag (google rekomendation) or before ending </body>. Maybe You thinking on PHP, ASP etc and not to CSS?

HTML and css complement each other and are not used separately. you have to place the google analytics code just before the end of body tag. that's it to it.

HTML and CSS, and use them in the best possible way from the outset. Logically divided chapters coupled with tag and property appendixes make it a damned fine reference book, too.
