Thought I would share with everyone a problem I encountered with PayPal last week.
I invoiced a new client and my invoice was flagged for eCheck payment only. I did not ask for that limitation nor was my client willing to pay by eCheck.
Came to find out that there is a limit to the amount of PayPal payments a non-registered individual/e-mail address can make.
PayPal was indeed helpful in getting this fixed but had they written a more accurate error message my client and I would not have had to waste three days on this silliness.
Nikolas, I hope you don't mind the long link. I couldn't find anything on that error message and am hoping that other people won't lose a customer over this like I almost did.

I have had similar problems in the past with paypal. For instance if you have a business account in Europe and get more than 6000 euro in payments they freeze your account until you provide documents (I have had this problem twice)
Now regarding what they did to you I think it is ok, because the last two years there were many scams in paypal. One friend of mine got a big payment from credit card and the cc was probably stolen as the paypal canceled the transaction a few days after...

My complaint was mainly with the error message. It makes the seller look stupid. I told the rep that if their intention is to get people to sign up for an account then they should just say so rather than imply the seller put restrictions on the transaction.
$6,000 in payments triggers another round of paperwork? I wonder if they have that in the US.

you need to do more than add content, you need to seo the site, build links and get the traffic high. if you do then depending on the blog sector you could sell for many thousands, i padi £4000 for a football blog with 30,000 unqiues and im sure people sell for more

I have read out your whole story and I think, that problem created due to your geographical location.

I have a bad experience with Paypal too. On Oct 10th,I heard from my friends (my bank too) that Chinese users would never manage to draw money from Paypal to Chinese bank account from now on no matter if the users were reliable. On Aug 26th,I did manage to draw money from Paypal to my Chinese bank account. But I don't think I can manage to do it again.
