i think if i have members with my site, a chat room would be helpful to keep them sticky.

what do you think about it?

i found a chat application with a flash client, it is a good choice? here is a live demo of it, it worths you a try also, i think. www.123flashchat.com/demopage_2.html

well, it should be at first. But, it is by no means the best solution in the long run. WHY? Chat room meets everywhere, why I come to yours?

hmmm flash chat looks good but this is not the solution for getting traffic on your site you should use SEO and Internet Marketing techniques for it

In your case, u have already have members in your  site, it is good to keep them communicate with each other, so than the connection can be built in your site, not bad, tht chat room IMO.

I don't think a chat room can keep your members, What you need is quality and interesting content on your sites/ forums.

Its good idea to stick users on your website. You can also stick users on your websites by some good songs, online radios or movie trailors.

A chat room for common friends is beneficial. But there is still no guarantee that this will last long. It is depending on how other members of the chat room use its availability.

Well it solely depends upon the website category...
If your website is for a certain product.. like an e-commerce website... then of course its a badd idea.. you are wasting your time..
But if your website is related to some sort of information ,,,, like news ..  sports, games... etc... than this chat will definitely work... !!!
And can hold the traffic!!

You know, I just love being with people. That's why I also love chatting. It helps me to connect with people even find new friends. The only danger is, you're not sure if you can trust a person you met through chat. Still, be vigilant.
