I am wanting to start a small web hosting company, and want my expenses to be minimized as much as possible. Is VPS the right choice or any other ideas? Thanks.

VPS is not so good because you can have several problems (security, resources, etc.)
If you can't go for a dedicated box then the best option is a shared hosting account.

For small company it's not a good idea. Use cheap hosting company to satisfy your needs. It can be natcoweb for example. Try them as you pay a couple of bucks and get supported service.

Hi
VPS is not a good idea for small hosting business . I would like to suggest you to go for reseller hosting if you want to start new hosting business .
Thanks

As you are going to start a new business, instead of going for VPS initially, you can purchase reseller plan. Later on you can easily migrate to VPS .

Minimizing expenses, make sure to have reasonable package and service, otherwise you will pay twice.
The reasonable VPS can be exampled from serverpoint .com.

Thanks for all your replies, buddies. I see that serverpoint provides VPS deals on Linux and Windows platforms, which one is better to start for me? What do you think? Prices are affordable and they offer the second free month ... that's amazing.

Go linux. it is less resource consuming and more stable and widely used, except for being cheaper.

Noticed the company natcoweb.com, which I knw as a quality provider is cyurrentl;y offering 75% off for their VPS deals, and thus they become really attractive, so take a look and make comparison.
