Hi folks,

Black Hat search engine optimization is defined as unethical techniques that are used to get higher search rankings.

It is not recommended but I am finding people are doing it and being said that it is effective for short term. People use black hat tactics to get instant ranking and traffic for particular time period which is the best for their business. For example people are selling such products which are in demand at the time of Christmas so they might use black hat to get high ranking and traffic for short term to get benefit of Christmas days.

What is your opinion about it?

As you said black hat is good for short term. If you want to establish a good online business it is not the way to go, plus whatever trick you may find to receive traffic with black hat is just a matter of time until it changes (google has a whole group of people to fight search engine spam)

lot of what is known as black hat SEO actually used to be legit, but some folks went a bit overboard and now these techniques are frowned upon by the general SEO community at large.

These black hat SEO practices will actually provide short-term gains in terms of rankings, but if you are discovered utilizing these spammy techniques on your Web site, you run the risk of being penalized by search engines.

Black hat SEO basically is a short-sighted solution to a long-term problem, which is creating a Web site that provides both a great user experience and all that goes with that.

Yes you are right Black Hat SEO is absolutely an illegal one as to using illegal techniques for them to be able to lift the sites, spamdexing, and other spamming strategies. This is a easy way to get your site banned from search engines.

Black Hat SEO uses unethical ways just to get back links. It doesn't follow rules and regulations. Cloaking, improper redirects, keyword stuffing, invisible text and link farms are just some of the methods that falls under black hat.

google will catch you but the penality is poor, buying links will results in a temporary drop in serps rather than banned, they should step up the fight and start banning sites for good

Black hat SEO is about getting higher search rankings in an unethical manner. It is about cheating the search engines with low search engine techniques.

Yes, it is good for short term. But for my part, you'd better keep away from it. Whit hat seo is always the best. And in the long run, you can benefit from it a lot.

It is an unethical technique. Black Hat Seo Stands for activities those are against to Google Algorithm and Google always against for this technique. Lots of SEO used to get high rank in SERPs within very short time but if Google find them than they may be penalize or banned by Google. Yes, this technique very useful to high rank in SERPs but mind it Google always against Black Hat SEO. Some of the trick of Black Hat SEO:-

(1) Keyword Stuffing
(2) Cloaking
(3) Title Stacking
(4) Hidden Links
(5) Links with Bad Neighborhood etc.
Calm down. It's just a virus.
