As your are new you should focus on learning keywords and related thing. For this I know a keyword that is google adwords keyword tool. you can use it free from google adwords.

I really don't use any specific tools. I just use Dreamweaver to edit meta tags, and manage web design.

1. SEO Quake is one I always use. 2. backlinkwatch, its a website actually that I use to check sites backlink.
