But is there anyone kind enough to share your knowledge about internet traffic and some online promotional methods?

Specifically, I am a beginner, and want to make a biz on the internet, I read somewhere about that traffic is very important to the website, then could anybody tell me how many kinds of traffic are there and how to effectively drive those traffic?

And how many kinds of promotional methhods are there for online marketting?

there are actually many ways to promote a site and gain web traffic.. :
1. forums
2. link building
3. distributing articles to various article directories
4. blogs

and many others.. you can start by browsing the net.. there are articles that will guide you..

Well I use following things:

Article submission
directory submission
Froum posting
Advertising

Want to get more traffics,you should have a good rank on search engines,so you should build more high quality backlinks with your keyword

CONTENT! not sure why any hasn?t said it yet, yes you need to build links and book mark your site all over the site.

but unique and interesting content will guarantee you traffic, you will pick up much more long tail searches and you will appear in far more search results

Loads of methods to get traffic to your site. |Some pad e.g PPC and some free. I think you need a variety of methods to ensure a continuous stream of traffic to your sites. Well that's what I do and I command about 10,000 visitors a day to my sites

No single ethod has the magic bullet. it really is a little of this and a little of that

There are lots of method exist to increase the website traffic and social networks are one of the best source to increase your website traffic.
