Thats great news.
It seems that after the movements of Microsoft against Adobe(the new versions of windows will have more sofisticated Paint program, plus they will make something like the acrobat reader), competition will raise.
And I agree with you wineo. Untill now we all used programs from both these companies, so now it will be easier to make them work together as they will be produced from the same company.

haha @ what nikolas said about better paint.. i have taken a sneak peak at windows codename longhorn (soon to be named Windows vista in 2006), and paint has rarely undertaken any changes. the only differences i really see is the security of IE 7 and the improved OS interface..
ps. you are probably wondering how i have seen vista, might i remind you i work for a large internet-based company dealing with servers and beta-testing new OS's such as XP before it was announced, and now Vista (codename longhorn)
