Hey....
i think both are important for good SEO... Contents are little bit more important if you have good contents than your links should exist for long time but it doesn't mean that links have no importance....

Links were beating content until the latest Google algorithm change. Now we are still testing...

I am completely agree with alicakeys statement and would like to advise you to continue with your link building efforts along with creating quality content for your website as both of them are necessary to attain and maintain good seo rankings for your keywords.

However, if you got bored with posting links here and there I would suggest you to put some efforts on social media marketing. You can get a good amount of traffic from social media websites like stumbleupon, facebook, and twitter etc. But, that will require you to actively interacting with the members, making friends, and engaging the community members to draw traffic towards your website.

Both of them are important.
Quality content is the essence of the websites.
Google thinks high of BACKLINKS,which increase your site's PR quickly.

If you have unlimited links, you won't need content, but since you can't get enough links you will have to combine them both.

Both quality content and backlinks are very essential in SEO..
I'm surprised to know that you're able to get your site on 1st page of SERP without links..
i would still suggest for you to get quality backlinks...
